At bashr we discuss popular trends & current events, sharing information & ideas through a wider lens.
We discuss popular trends & current events with an eye to their veracity, their influence on society, and whether or not we are all liking, following, and sharing content without thinking critically.

Do we all make things worse, for everyone, without even thinking about it? Are we all, as a society, thoughtlessly propagating nonsense? ..and if we are, who benefits?
We all live in the same messed-up world, where often it can be difficult to figure out what (and who) is right & wrong, or if anyone or anything ever needs to be either; can it be both?

We believe it can be.

We're here to share our thoughts and opinions, but none of it is exclusive or absolute. We invite constructive discussion in an attempt to build a bridge across an ever-widening river of misunderstandings, confirmation bias, and echo chambers.

At bashr, we believe in equity & open minds, and that all of us have the ability to think more critically & carefully, and less automatically. We can agree to disagree, with mutual respect.
We can all, always, learn something from eachother; together, we can replace hate with empathy.

And maybe we can collectively shift our focus away from arbitrary distractions, and toward a future we can all benefit from.
